Laurence Fishburne vs. Samuel L. Jackson
For some reason every time I think of Laurence Fishburne I tend to think of Samuel L. Jackson... I guess it's because I have a theory that George Lucas wanted Laurence Fishburne to play the part of Mace Windu in the new Star Wars Trilogy especially after his successes from The Matrix ... but no real comparison here as far as the craft of acting is concerned... in my opinion Sam Jackson wins this Fake Act Friday. However, we can't forget some of his great performances in flicks such as A Time to Kill, Pulp Fiction and Shaft. Many critics often overlook the artist's body of work and tend to judge on a single performance... hence the term: "you're only as good as your last film." I believe analyzing an artist's complete catalog is a great way to understand more about the individual and how far they can stretch as an artist and/or performer. Its obvious that Fishburne's body of work outshines Sam Jackson's by far... allow me to name some: Matrix, Othello, Akeelah and the Bee and Boyz in the Hood. Not bad huh? So the winner of this Fake Act Friday... Samuel L. Jackson
