Another benefit from having a critical screening for your movie is being able to practice your communication skills to the viewer as well as the artist. After our critical screening of Shiro's Head, we quickly realized that all the viewers had questions regarding technical and/or personal aspects of the movie... which I have to admit I was not quite prepared to answer any of them. Everyone had their own great set of questions that kept both Kel and I on our toes all night... and soon after the fifth or eighth question we were able to let loose and speak without trembling... (speaking for myself.) I find the technical questions are a lot easier to answer that just a general one like... what inspired you to make an art drama? Those are the hard ones. The truth is that Kel and I learned a great deal about expressing our vision to both sides of the table... and I believe it makes for good practice because if you make a film... you're going to have to tell someone about it... your wife, your mom, a business man... someone... and you don't want to sound like an idiot when your trying to express your artistic vision... trust me... there are so many things I'm better at doing than talking about it. Unfortunately for me the movie business is about talking about it before you produce it! But I'm a quick learner. So till next post folks. take care. Thanks Dan and Darcy!
